You can tell that Telltale Games has been in automatic mode for a long time. It has hardly changed its formula since the success of the first ‘The Walking Dead’, embracing the format of the series and leaving the gameplay, the raison d’être of video games, in a secondary section.

Unlike in the golden age of adventure games, Telltale Games continues to bet on linearity and many videos with dialogues, something that will please some and disappoint others. However in this Season Finale of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy – The Telltale Series’ it does so in a more pronounced way with respect to the recent ‘The Walking Dead: A New Frontier’.

‘Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series’ kicked off with its first episode, «Tangled Up in Blue», last April 18, 2017, and just yesterday its final episode, Don’t Stop Believin’, went on sale, with which its first season has finally been completed.

Each episode has served, in turn, to deepen the history of each Guardian thanks to the help of a certain character. These flashbacks, already experienced at the beginning with Peter Quill and the tragic loss of his mother, will be vital for the final stretch to put us in front of a truly complex situation. And if Telltale has done something right, it is to make us easily empathize with the Guardians and make every fight between them hurt us.

Guardianes de la Galaxia: The Telltale Series es una serie de videojuegos de aventura gráfica episódica desarrollada y publicada por Telltale Games. Basada en la serie de cómics Guardianes de la Galaxia de Marvel Comics, el primer episodio del juego se lanzó el 18 de abril de 2017.

La trama se centra en el hallazgo por parte de los Guardianes de un artefacto de gran poder llamado «Forja de la Eternidad» que cada uno codicia individualmente pero que debe proteger de la maliciosa Kree Hala la Acusadora, que lo quiere para sí misma[4].

Guardianes de la Galaxia se desarrolla de forma similar a otros juegos de Telltale, en los que el personaje del jugador habla con otros personajes, explora el entorno e interactúa con los objetos que hay en él y, en ocasiones, completa secuencias de acción compuestas por quick time events. Los jugadores toman decisiones, como la selección de diálogos, que crean determinantes dentro de la historia que afectan a las acciones posteriores dentro del episodio y en futuros episodios. Dentro de la serie, el jugador se pone en la piel de Star-Lord, pero a veces puede asumir brevemente el papel de otro Guardián durante las secuencias de acción o, en momentos concretos, jugar como otro personaje en un flashback[5].

The story focuses on the Guardians of the Galaxy and is distributed in 5 episodes, where the main emphasis is on the Eternity Forge, a powerful artifact that the evil ones want to obtain to take advantage of its power.

The gameplay is similar to any other Telltale Games game, it is interactive, the player takes the decisions of each character and in some moments can control the character in an isometric view in a scenario where you have to inspect things.
